So Big!

Caden Loves Kisses!

Today’s unseasonably warm weather makes it feel like the boys’ birthdays are already upon us but we’re still in the depths of winter, gracias El NiƱo. Nevertheless, Caden is just a skosh past a fortnight away from turning one, and has really expedited his growth in the past couple weeks. His character is really starting to congeal into a curious, lovable and yet sometimes mischievous little brut. Even though he talks with his Dad though a cacophony of grunts, this caveman is still a Momma’s boy. I swear he can smell her coming and when she leaves upstairs he can locate her with a round of high pitch grunts from downstairs that has to be a new dolphin-like sonar genetic mutation. He recently learned to raise his hands over his head after we say, “How big is Caden? So big.” So now his favorite two tricks are clapping and raising his hands after Mommy or Daddy walks in the door; so adorable. Yet most exciting is his new sense of balance and ever expanding consecutive steps. His early hesitation to fail has quickly heeded to a new demeanor of confidence and adventurism: two characteristics that Cole, on the other hand, has always displayed.

Cole continues to display chutzpah, complemented with genuine humility and a maturity beyond his years. Just tonight, he could be heard randomly singing, “ella, ella, ella, eh eh, ella, ella,” straight from the Rihanna song, “Umbrella.” I can directly relate to his sense of humor by revisiting when I used to respond with “woof, woof,” when my mom asked me what a cat says. One just needs to take a look at his gallery of Mii’s on his new Nintendo Wii, to grasp this kid’s humor. It’s a virtual mad science laboratory of family avatars, with a plethora of humorously mismatched hair styles, physiques and nose shapes, just to name a few. Cole is extremely excited to go to Disneyland in a couple of months for his third birthday, even though he has no idea what it is. All he knows is that Mickey and friends are there and that’s good enough for him. He again displayed the keenness of his memory today by telling us we were about to buy “huevos” at the store after Kelly taught him the week prior what the word for eggs was in Spanish. He’s a sharp kid and very loving, even with his younger brother, except when Caden is aspiring to be Cole and tries to play with the same toys, which doesn’t settle well with Cole.

It continues to be a sheer pleasure experiencing both boys’ daily milestones and hilarious quarks.

So Big!

My Little Bug!
My Big Boy!

This past weekend was quite eventful, and we were so excited that Auntie Kelly was up from California to share the fun. We have been anxiously waiting for this potty training thing to take off, and we started right before Cole was two, and then Caden was born, and Cole lost the desire to go in the potty all the time. We were all patient, and finally Cole told us he was ready, and it literally happened over night. I always knew he could do it. He is a bright kid, and we are so proud of him.
Our little Bug took his first steps too. (I told ya it was a busy weekend!) He is also becoming more verbal, and has MANY funny sounds. His new favorite is "So Big," and he is so happy when he does it with his hands in the air. My boys couldn't be more different. Cole was always early with everything, crawling, walking, talking and singing, but always had the mentality to GO ,GO, GO! My Caden Bug is SO laid back, and loves to snuggle, is a Momma's boy, and is content just hangin' out. I Love each of their personalities, and they are so sweet together.

Latest W/ Cole:
He called me at work today, and at first I was worried when my phone rings at school, not at the usual call time. (It's a Mom thing!) He used my mom's phone and apparently got on the laptop at home and was trying to print color sheets off the internet. He realized we were out of ink, and this was a HUGE deal. He called me at work to tell me the massive problem. "We need ink. I need to print out my Einstein pictures." My mom then got on the phone, and we were laughing. He is such a big boy! I love how the kid can navigate his way through technology.

Latest W/ Bug:
"So Big," and Taking steps. More sounds besides Momma and Dadda. Playing with whatever brother is, and gives the best kisses!

Baby Olivia Is Here!

Our good friends Wes and Marie just welcomed their new baby girl on the 18th! She weighed 9 lbs 1 ounce, and is 21.5 long. She has the cutest cheeks, and her and Caden are going to be great cheeker pals! I will post pics as soon as I can, because I cant wait to meet this little peanut! They are going to be fabulous parents, and it will so fun watching her grow up. Guess we have to play dolls and have tea parties at their house, since it all sports and legos at mine! :)

Happy 11 Month Birthday Caden Bug!

Sweet Boy!
Your Best Pal
We Love You!!
Big Smile
Favorite Face!

We still can't believe that a year has almost gone by. Caden you are getting so big, and we just love you to pieces. You are so mellow, unless you want attention from your Mommy, and of course that is all of the time. You are such a snuggler, and you give the best loves. You are so content with walking with someone's hand, and you easily chicken out when we let go. We are really in no hurry either for you to be running around! You are quite sneaky, and can find trouble pretty fast. You LOVE the dishwasher, especially when it is open! We love how you are playing with toys by yourself, and want to be just like brother, and play all of his big boy games. Your smile is so sweet, and your cheeks always kissable.
Happy Birthday Caden Bug! We Love you so much!!

Happy New Year!

Caden's Favorite Face! Tongue ALWAYS out!
Our Big Boy Cole
New Elmo Microwave
New Wii

Caden Loves His New Toys

What a great way to bring in the New Year, with your two little punkins at home! Jamin and I went to a great dinner with our good friends Megan and Keaka. I love Tokyo steak house, and all the salt it has to offer! We then picked the boys up and hung out at home, where I was determined to stay up until midnight. I made it, but was soon to bed after. Our little Cole who is usually the night owl, passed out early, and Caden was wide awake and brought 2010 in with a bang! It is so funny how times have changed, and I wouldn't change a thing. Being at home with family is a great way to bring in the New Year!
2009 was extremely good to us. Caden was born, and is my snuggle bug! Our little Cole is growing into quite the big boy, and is getting smarter as each day passes. He has the best personality too. We finally got our home, and Jamin and I couldn't be happier. We are looking forward to another great year!
